Product Introduction – Purified Water Products

Ion Exchange Resin Tower System (IEX)

Overview

A conventional water treatment technology that utilizes tower vessels filled with ion exchange resins (cation, anion, or mixed-bed resins) to deeply remove dissolved salts and ions from water through an exchange reaction between replaceable ions on the resin and impurity ions in the water. Periodic regeneration using acid and alkali chemicals is required to restore its exchange capacity.

Features

Deep desalination and deionization: Efficiently removes most anions and cations from water (including difficult-to-remove ions such as silica and boron), producing high-purity water with resistivity up to 18 MΩ·cm.
Strong adaptability to water quality: Highly tolerant to fluctuations in feed water quality (e.g., TOC, hardness, salinity), and capable of treating RO product water with high TOC content.
Mature and reliable:  Mature technology and extensive application experience, ensuring stable and reliable operation.
Flexible configuration: Various combinations such as single bed (cation bed/anion bed), composite bed (cation bed + anion bed), or mixed bed (combination of cation and anion resins) can be adopted according to water quality requirements.

Usage

It is primarily used for making pure water or as a polishing unit:
Water purification: Serves as a mixed-bed unit following RO or EDI to ensure high-purity product water.
Deep desalination: Serves as a post-treatment for RO or an alternative solution (when the feed water is unsuitable for RO or an extremely high desalination rate is required).
Specific ion removal: Selectively remove specific ions (e.g., nitrate removal, boron removal, heavy metal recovery).
Boiler feed water treatment: Ensures boiler feed water quality to prevent scaling and corrosion.
